Sometimes they're "subtle moments", like when someone mistreats you, and you consciously decide the line has been crossed, and there will be a change.
Or they're "a-little-more-obvious moments", such as when you get laid off. If you do it right, you can face the fear and find your path to your true passion.
They can also be "in-your-face moments", with absolutely no question as to their significance.
I had an "in-your-face moment" a few years ago that changed my entire life. It was during a two-week trip to a gorgeous tropical island in the archipelago of the Republic of Panama. I slept in a luxury bungalow nestled in the middle of the jungle. And I was trapped lying in a pile of my own shit.
Literally.
I can't finish this story here because it belongs in my book (and trust me, the full version is hilarious / horrifying / inspiring). But that event was the catalyst of some serious life contemplation. And my advice is that those "in-your-face-moments" are some of the best things that will ever happen to you - if they happen to you - even if they reach you in the worst way.
