Tea at high noon in the dapper lobby of the Shanghai Ritz-Carlton was decadent. My tongue still remembers the burn of the steaming dark berry liquid and savory flakiness of the pastries. Sitting with my ankles crossed demurely, I smiled and nodded and laughed, taking in the traffic composed of foreign businessmen and ladies who lunch. Experiencing the other side through a tea party - there is no better way.
